Jay-Z To Open Nets’ Arena

Nets part-owner Jay-Z will open the team’s new Brooklyn arena by performing there next September.

The hip-hop mogul said at a news conference Monday across the street from the construction site that he will perform “one, two, maybe three” times at the Barclays Center. Dates haven’t been set.

With the still under-construction Barclay’s Center behind him, in the Brooklyn borough of New York.

Jay-Z also made it official that the club will be called the Brooklyn Nets. The franchise is scheduled to move from New Jersey for the 2012-13 season.
