More European Dates For Thurston

Thurston Moore is going to be quite the globetrotter this fall. He’s announced a European tour that follows several South American gigs with Sonic Youth.

Moore is touring in support of his most recent solo release, Demolished Thoughts. The acoustic rock album, which was produced by Beck, was released in May on Matador Records.

Tonight Moore will perform with Cass McCombs in Big Sur, Calif., at Henry Miller Library. On Friday he takes the stage at Hardly Strictly Bluegrass @ Speedway Meadow in San Francisco at Golden Gate Park.

Austin City Limits Festival, Zilker Park, Austin, TX

After playing a few gigs in Europe this spring, the Sonic Youth vocalist/guitarist returns to the continent Nov. 27 with a show in Dublin, Ireland, at the Button Factory. The tour wraps up Dec. 10 in Zurich, Switzerland, at Moods.

United Kingdom dates include Glasgow at The Arches Nov. 28; Leeds at Brudenell Social Club Nov. 29; Manchester at The Ritz Nov. 30; and London at Union Chapel Dec. 2. On Dec. 3 Moore will play All Tomorrow’s Parties in Minehead at Arena at Butlins.

Moore has also lined up two shows in Germany with gigs in Berlin (Dec. 5) and Munich (Dec. 6), followed by three nights in Italy with performances in Ferrara (Dec. 7), Rome (Dec. 8) and Milan (Dec. 9).

The South American Sonic Youth dates include sets at Personal Festival in Buenos Aires, Argentina (Nov. 5); Maquinaria Festival in Santiago, Chile (Nov. 13); and SWU Festival in Paulinia, Brazil (Nov. 14). The band will also play Montevideo, Uruguay (Nov. 8) and Lima, Peru (Nov. 10).

Tickets for the Zurich show go on sale Oct. 5. All other tickets are on sale now.
