There’s A Rockabilly Riot Goin’ On
Currently playing Japan, Setzer’s “Rockabilly Riot” begins a U.S. run the first week of December. Featuring guitarist Setzer along with two stand-up bassists, two drummers (including Setzer’s Stray Cats partner Slim Jim Phantom), and a piano player, the Riot launches the journey in Detroit at the Sound Board @ MotorCity Casino Hotel Dec. 1. Other stops include Chicago’s House Of Blues Dec. 2; Columbia, Mo., at The Blue Note Dec. 6; Sauget, Ill., at Pops Dec. 5; Kansas City’s Uptown Theater Dec. 7; Wichita, Kan., at the Orpheum Theater Dec. 9; Tempe, Ariz., at The Marquee Dec. 13; Seattle at Showbox At The Market Dec. 22; and Spokane, Wash., at the Northern Quest Casino Dec. 30-31.
Along with playing in the “Riot Squad,” Slim Jim Phantom will perform a separate set.
But December life is more than a Rockabilly Riot for The Stray Cats’ frontman. The Brian Setzer Orchestra has a couple of Southern California dates scheduled close to Christmas, bringing the big sound to the Gibson Amphitheatre at Univ. CityWalk Dec. 17 and San Bernardino at California Theatre Of Performing Arts Dec. 18.
A few Rockabilly Riot dates are already on sale. Sauget goes up Friday, Seattle Saturday and Kansas City Oct. 15.
