A handful of “under-the-radar” dates were reported for the latest project by Derek Trucks and Susan Tedeschi, but they don’t tell the whole story.

The new project, Tedeschi Trucks Band, played some break-in dates at 500- to 750-capacity venues in April.

Since then, the band has launched its debut tour in substantially larger venues with crowds numbering in the several thousands – numbers that better suit Trucks and Tedeschi whose former projects were named Derek Trucks Band, Soul Stew Revival and Derek Trucks and Susan Tedeschi Band.

The band’s agency, Entourage Talent, told Pollstar it has had to break the news to club buyers that the April dates are not representative of the band’s selling power.
