Rain’s Farewell
K-pop’s biggest solo artist,
The show was at Seoul’s Bangyi Dong Olympic Gymnastics Hall with some 10,000 fans in attendance, many of whom had come from Japan and China.
At one point during the concert, Rain, whose real name is Jung Ji-hoon, explained to the audience that “It’s been 10 years since I debuted,” and then talked a little about the “obstacles” he had to face, according to Soompi News.
He didn’t specifically talk about the various lawsuits regarding canceled overseas concerts.
“Sometimes when I’m driving around,” he continued, “other cars speed ahead of me or make me slow down. Right now, it’s like that. There’s a little bit of traffic here, but before you know it, this car will be speeding along again.”
Rain enters the military Oct. 11. The normal term for national service is two years, after which he says he will return. But two years is a long time in the fast-moving world of K-pop.
