Goo Goo Dolls’ NFL Date Means Schedule Changes

The Goo Goo Dolls will headline the pre-game show at the NFL’s Pepsi Max International Series in London Oct. 23. While this is great news for Brits looking forward to seeing the Chicago Bears and Tampa Bay Buccaneers battle it out at Wembley Stadium, it also means the band has had to tweak its American schedule in order to travel across the pond.

The Goo Goo Dolls’ gig scheduled for Oct. 22 at the Hampton Beach Casino Ballroom in Hampton Beach, N.H., has been moved to Nov. 19 and the Oct. 23 concert at Warner Theater in Torrington, Conn., has been moved to Nov. 17. Check out GooGooDolls.com for more info.

Charlie Daniels Keyboardist Dies

The Charlie Daniels Band lost a longtime member with the passing of keyboardist Joel “Taz” DiGregorio.

The 67-year-old musician died Wednesday evening from injuries sustained from an automobile accident west of Nashville that occurred while en route to meet the band’s tour bus. DiGregorio had played keyboards for the Charlie Daniels Band for more than 40 years and had co-written many of the group’s hits, including “The Devil Went Down To Georgia.”

“I am in shock now, Taz was one of my best friends,” Charlie Daniels said in a statement. “The CDB family has lost a great friend and musician. We traveled many miles together and shared so many nights on the road. We’re going to miss you buddy. You were one of a kind and will never be forgotten. We send our deepest condolences to the family.”

No Tucker For Albany

Chris Tucker’s Sunday night gig scheduled for the Palace Theatre in Albany, N.Y., has been cancelled, according to the Times Union newspaper, which notes all traces of the event have vanished from the venue’s website.

The newspaper also cites a Live Nation announcement saying the gig was canceled due to “unforeseen circumstances.”
