Yes, Bob Seger is finally showing some love to the West Coast and other states west of the Rockies. Up until now Seger and The Silver Bullet Band’s 2011 journey has pretty much stayed on the eastern side of the Continental Divide.

The new crop of dates includes a gig trumpeted as a “special New Year’s Eve show in Las Vegas,” but the actual date for the concert at Mandalay Bay Events Center is Dec. 30, not 31. As it turns out, the show will also be Seger’s 50th performance this year.

No matter which night Seger chooses to ring out the old while ringing in the new, wrapping up 2011 in Vegas is a great way to close out a very successful tour.

New shows are Oklahoma City at the Chesapeake Energy Center Arena Dec. 15; Dallas at American Airlines Center Dec. 17; Oakland, Calif., at Oracle Arena Dec. 21; Phoenix at US Airways Arena Dec. 23; Los Angeles at Staples Center Dec. 28 and, of course, Sin City at Mandalay Bay Events Center Dec. 30.
