UTEP Taps Vazquez

Jorge Vazquez has been named executive director of the office of special events at the University of Texas at El Paso.

Vasquez, a UTEP grad, was a production coordinator and toured with Enrique Iglesias and Shakira, among others.

Prior to his Sept. 1 appointment, Vazquez was interim director and is credited with bringing in performances by Cirque du Soleil, George Lopez, Michael Bublé, Rush and Santana, among others, to the UTEP Don Haskins Center.
