Barclays Inks AEG

AEG Facilities has inked a multiyear deal with Brooklyn Sports & Entertainment to operate Barclays Center, the future home of the New Jersey Nets under construction in Brooklyn, N.Y., and appointed Steve Rosebrook VP of operations and David Anderson VP of event guest services.

Both AEG vets have experience operating NBA venues and report to Barclays Center GM John Sparks.

Sparks, in turn, works for Brooklyn Sports, the Nets’ arena management firm. Barclays Center CEO Brett Yormark told Sports Business Journal the AEG deal is “not a content play” but one that provides “bench strength” in operations.

It’s expected that AEG will help funnel non-sports events into the Center.
