Brad Paisley’s 2012 Tour
Brad Paisley launches “The Camobunga! 2012 World Tour,” in Grand Rapids, Mich., at the Van Andel Arena Jan. 12. Presented by Chevy, other destinations in the first batch of dates released include Kansas City at the Sprint Center Jan. 19; Las Vegas at the Mandalay Bay Events Center Jan. 28; Madison, Wis., at the Alliant Energy Center Feb. 23; Baltimore at 1st Mariner Center March 1 and Lexington, Ky., at Rupp Arena March 3.
What does “Camobunga” mean? Paisley describes it as the moniker of a musical tour featuring “a mind blowing blend of country, fiery ‘60s surf guitar acrobatics, futuristic special effects, retro heart and soul, and mind altering liquid beverages. The spirit of the deep woods meets the breakneck excitement of the California coast.”
Paisley claims the word hails from “camouflage,” which happens to be the name of his latest single from his album This Is Country Music, blended with “cowabunga” a word with a long historical lineage including usage by Bart Simpson, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, surfers and Chief Thunderthud of the 1950s kids program “The Howdy Doody Show.”
At post time, presale and general ticket information had not been announced although Kansas City goes on sale Oct. 21. Visit BradPaisley.com for more information.
