Hersheypark GM O’Connell Dies

Frank O’Connell, GM of Hershey Entertainment Complex in Pennsylvania, died of a heart attack Oct. 18. He was 48.

O’Connell was with Hersheypark Entertainment & Resorts Co. for 33 years, starting out in the food and beverage department, according to the Patriot-News.

He managed operations at the complex, which houses the 9,062-capacity Hersheypark Arena, 1,800-capacity Hersheypark Amphitheatre, 30,000-capacity Hersheypark Stadium and 7,400-capacity The Star Pavilion at Hersheypark Stadium.

“Those of us who knew Frank professionally recognized that he possessed the wonderful qualities of wisdom, strength, intelligence and compassion,” company spokeswoman Mindy Bianca told the News. “Those traits were matched by Frank’s deep commitment to family, friends and community.”
