Widespread Panic Unplugs

Your only chance to see Widespread Panic in the U.S. next year may very well be one of the shows on the short acoustic outing dubbed the “Wood Tour” beginning in late January.

The 11-date, four-city tour is wrapped around Widespread Panic’s first shows in Mexico. The sold-out “Panic En La Playa” featuring The Panic in all its electrical glory takes place Jan. 31-Feb. 3 at the Now Sapphire Resort in Puerto Morelos.

Concluding its 25th anniversary celebration, Widespread Panic’s “Wood Tour” begins in Silver Spring, Md., at The Fillmore Jan. 24-25. Other dates are Atlanta’s Tabernacle Jan. 27-29; Denver at The Fillmore Feb. 10-12; and Aspen at the Belly-Up Feb. 17-19.

If you’ve been putting off seeing Widespread Panic, then this could be your last chance until 2013 or later. Word is the band is going on hiatus for the rest of 2012 after it concludes the acoustic tour.
