Black Appeal Denied

The Tennessee Supreme Court has declined to hear an appeal regarding a lawsuit Clint Black filed against his former manager.

The ruling upholds a decision that was favorable to Black, who sued Charles Sussman on several grounds, claiming the manager failed to tell him the lead act on Equity Records – Little Big Town – had not signed a contract in more than a year.

The label, founded by Black and two partners, shuttered in 2008. The lawsuit also alleged Sussman mismanaged Black’s career and held that the singer’s annual operating expenses fell by $869,000 annually after he switched firms.
