Paul Stanley Recovering From Vocal Cord Surgery

KISS singer/guitarist Paul Stanley announced that he underwent vocal cord surgery earlier this week.

Without getting into specifics, a post on the band’s website says Tuesday’s surgery was done “to address some recurring vocal cord issues.”

The singer’s doctors say the surgery was a success and that Stanley is expected to make a “swift and complete” recovery.

“I hold myself to a higher standard than others do,” Stanley said in a statement. “With that in mind, I wanted to remedy a few minor issues that come with 40 years of preaching rock ’n’ roll.”

Stanley is producing the band’s 20th studio upcoming album, Monster. The album is expected to be released in spring 2012. A tour is in the works to go along with Monster, which KISS promises will be the band’s “biggest and most ambitious worldwide tour ever, spanning multiple countries and continents.”
