Hagar Tell-All Draws Lawsuit

An Iowa woman is suing Sammy Hagar over his autobiography, “Red: My Uncensored Life in Rock,” saying the book reveals too much information.

The woman, a former Playboy bunny identified in court records as Jane Doe, filed the lawsuit in Black Hawk County District Court in October claiming Hagar violated a confidentiality agreement between the two regarding a child Doe says Hagar fathered in 1989. The child, a boy, died shortly after birth.

The filing says Hagar and Doe met in the 1980s when he was with Van Halen. The alleged agreement was for Hagar to support her during her pregnancy. A paternity test was to be performed after the child was born.

In the book Hagar denies he fathered the boy and claims he was extorted.

Hagar’s lawyers petitioned to have the case transferred to federal court in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, as both parties live in different states.
