Hastings For Mayor

Politically incorrect comedian Drew Hastings is taking his talents to another level by running for mayor of his adopted hometown of Hillsboro, Ohio.

Hastings, who’s been featured on “Comedy Central” and radio’s “The Bob & Tom Show,” won a three-way Republican primary earlier this year. He’s up against a retired banker in the Nov. 8 election.

Hastings owns a cattle ranch there and has purchased an old opera house that he plans to renovate.

Although some residents have speculated as to what the comic’s real motive is, Hastings said he’s “brutally serious” about helping to make Hillsboro, population 6,600, a more prosperous city.

“I think America is going to hell in a hand basket, and I can’t do anything about that,” he said. “But I can do something in my small corner of it. This is manageable. This is home.”
