Snoop & Wiz Go To High School

What could be better than a movie starring Snoop Dogg and Wiz Khalifa and featuring a soundtrack by the two rappers? How about a tour to go with it?

Described as a “buddy film,” “Mac And Devin Go To High School” features Khalifa as possible valedictorian Devin Overstreet trying to write his graduation speech when he realizes that he has yet to live life to its fullest.

That leads us to Snoop Dog’s character, Mac Johnson, the perpetual high-school senior (15 years and counting), who’s hot for the new substitute chemistry teacher, but realizes he must graduate high school first if he ever wants a chance with her. You can probably already see where this is going with Snoop helping Khalifa learn about life while Khalifa helps Snoop leave finish high school before he’s eligible for Medicare.

Of course, it’s not only what you see on the screen that matters but also the music playing behind the imagery. In this case it’s a soundtrack that features the single “Young, Wild & Free,” which includes an assist from Bruno Mars and his Smeezingtons songwriting/production partners Philip Lawrence and Ari Levine. The Mac And Devin Go To High School soundtrack album drops Dec. 13.

The “High School” tour begins a bit earlier with Snoop Dogg and Wiz Khalifa launching the six-city outing at New York City’s Terminal 5 Dec. 5. Other stops are Philadelphia’s Electric Factory Dec. 6; Washington, D.C., at the 9:30 Club Dec. 7; Atlanta at the Tabernacle Dec. 10; San Francisco’s Warfield Theatre Dec. 12; and Los Angeles at The Wiltern Dec. 13.

A presale for New York City begins Wednesday and the general onsale launches Friday. Ticket sales for other dates have yet to be announced. For more information, click here for Snoop Dogg’s website and here for Wiz Khalifa’s Internet HQ.
