Gulfport Builds Stage

Officials in Gulfport, Miss., are building on the success of the Gulfport Music Festival, in including buying a portable stage and planning free concerts.

The first of the CityStage Series is Nov. 19, featuring Tim Reynolds, lead guitarist for the Dave Matthews Band.

Officials say George Porter Jr. will perform Feb. 11. A city spokesman said Gulfport wants to continue the momentum from this year’s festival throughout the year, heading up to the second festival in May.
