Las Vegas Hilton Name Change
The Las Vegas Hilton may have to change its name if its license and rights to use the Hilton name are discontinued.
Parent company Colony Resorts LVH Acquisitions filed federal trademark applications in September for exclusive use of the name LVH or LVH Las Vegas Hotel & Casino that would cover all hotel and casino services.
The possible name change is the result of the Hilton hotel chain notifying the Las Vegas venue the company wants to end the license agreement this year.
Colony Resorts reps are also working with Goldman Sachs on restructuring its debt for the 2,950-room Las Vegas hotel and casino after skipping interest payments on a $252 million loan this summer.
