Odds & Ends – Hanson, Taylor Swift & Stone Roses
Here For The Beer
Evidently the brothers known collectively as Hanson are going into the beer biz.
While speaking at Oxford University earlier this week, the siblings played a few of their tunes and talked about a new business venture, telling the fans they would be surprised about their upcoming non-musical endeavor, according to U.K. newspaper Daily Express.
In yet another reminder that Hanson is no longer the teen band that rose to glory in the early 1990s, the brothers talked about expanding their brand into new areas in the form of an official Hanson beer to be called “MMMHop,” a riff on the band’s 1997 hit “MMMBop.”
“It’s vital our fans have trust in everything Hanson do,” Zac Hanson said. “In fact we are soon going to be selling our own beer, I’m not even joking. MMMHop IPA anyone?”
If Hanson’s MMMHop beer takes off, could a Justin Bieber tequila be far behind, say in four or more years after the teen star turns 21?
Taylor Hollywood Bound?
Can you imagine Taylor Swift appearing in a big screen version of the hit Broadway musical “Les Misérables?”
That’s the rumor going around Tinsel Town. Swift as well as Scarlett Johansson, Evan Rachel Wood and Lea Michelle are reportedly in the running to play Eponine in the film adaptation, according to the New York Post.
Of course, nothing is official and the Post article quoted those ever popular unnamed sources supposedly close to the planned film, saying all four ladies have already auditioned for the role. “Glee” actress Michelle appeared in the role when the musical was performed at the Bournemouth International Centre in early 2008.
