Afghan Whigs Will Be Your Mirror
An announcement on ATP’s website notes that The Afghan Whigs’ May 27 set at I’ll Be Your Mirror will mark the band’s first show in 13 years. The group officially split in 2001 after releasing its sixth album in 1998.
I’ll Be Your Mirror, which is curated by ATP and Mogwai, takes place May 25-27 at London’s Alexandra Palace. Along with Mogwai, the lineup also features Slayer (performing the band’s 1986 album Reign In Blood), Dirty Three, Melvins, Sleep, Mudhoney, Codeine and Yuck. Tickets are on sale now.
The Afghan Whigs will also headline I’ll Be Your Mirror in Asbury Park, N.J. The festival is scheduled Sept. 21-23 at various venues in Asbury Park with The Afghan Whigs performing Sept. 22.
The rest of the lineup will be announced in early January. Tickets and accommodations will also go on sale at that time.
