Thom Yorke Rocks Occupy London
The show took place in the basement of the Bank of Ideas building, an abandoned office block which belonged to investment bank UBS, according to Occupy London’s website.
In addition to Yorke, the event featured DJ sets from Massive Attack’s 3D and UNKLE’s Tim Goldsworthy, along with poets, dancers and comedians.
The performances were livestreamed via the Occupy London livestream and recorded for an album and HD video. The Occupation Records labels plans to release the album and video on a “pay what you want” basis with proceeds going toward Occupy London and the wider Occupy movement.
Last week Jackson Browne and Third Eye Blind performed an acoustic set for Occupy Wall Street supports at New York City’s Zuccoti Park. Both acts are taking part in a compilation album, Occupy This Album, which will benefit the Occupy Wall Street movement. The upcoming album will also feature Crosby & Nash, Lucinda Williams, Toots & the Maytals, Devo and Yo La Tengo.
