Anvil Hammers Its Way Into 2012

After closing out this year’s tour schedule with a few dates supporting Alice Cooper earlier this week, Anvil will begin 2012 with a U.S. headline tour.

Anvil is the Canadian heavy metal band you know thanks to the 2008 documentary film, “Anvil! The Story of Anvil.” After the film hit theatres the group opened for AC/DC and took to the road in early 2010 for its first full tour in a decade. Anvil has kept busy even since and will continue that trend in 2012.

The tour kicks off Jan. 27 in Mentor, Ohio, at Live Wire Lounge. After hitting up both coasts the trek wraps up back in Ohio Feb. 25 in Akron at Annabelle’s.

Fans can also find the band rocking Vienna, Va. (Jan. 29); Sellersville, Pa. (Jan. 31); Atlanta (Feb. 4); New Orleans (Feb. 7); Houston (Feb. 9); West Hollywood, Calif. (Feb. 15); Seattle (Feb. 18); Saint Paul, Minn. (Feb. 22); Chicago (Feb. 23); and Westland, Mich. (Feb. 24).

In May Anvil put out its 14th studio album, Juggernaut of Justice, on The End Records. The label plans to reissue the group’s entire catalog.
