Jon Bon Jovi Is Alive

Bon Jovi reassured fans that an Internet report claiming Jon Bon Jovi had died was a hoax by posting a smiling picture of the singer dated Dec. 19 on the band’s Facebook page.

A website called Daily New Blog International claims that the Bon Jovi frontman was pronounced dead Monday “after paramedics found him in a coma at his Empress Hotel” in Asbury Park, N.J. The blog says that after a 911 call was made, the singer was taken to Jersey Shore Medical Center, where he suffered cardiac arrest.

Los Angeles Times blog L.A. Now points out that some sentences in the post appear to have been copied from the Times’ 2009 story announcing Michael Jackson’s death.

The singer proves he is alive in a picture posted on Bon Jovi’s Facebook page.

To make sure fans knew that the rumors were completely false the band posted a picture of the singer standing in front of a Christmas tree holding a sign saying “Heaven looks a lot like New Jersey” along with the date and time “Dec. 19, 2011 6:00.” The caption on the photo added, “Rest assured that Jon is alive and well! This photo was just taken.”
