Red Hot Chili Peppers & Romeo Santos Add Shows
After quickly selling out the band’s Feb. 17 show at Oakland’s Oracle Arena, the Chili Peppers will stick around to play the venue the following night. The news comes a week after the group added a second date at Los Angeles’ Staples Center.
The U.S. leg of RHCP’s 2012 tour kicks off Jan. 20 in Sunrise, Fla., at BankAtlantic Center and wraps March 16 in North Little Rock, Ark., at Verizon Arena. A European trek is scheduled June 23 through Sept. 4. The band is touring in support of its tenth studio album, I’m With You.
Tickets for the Feb. 18 Oakland gig go on sale Jan. 6.
Santos’ ticket sales aren’t doing half bad either. The former lead singer for bachata band Aventura is gearing up for a solo headlining tour in support of his debut solo album, Formula, Vol.1, which was released in November.
The tour begins Feb. 11 at Madison Square Garden with dates booked through a March 25 gig at Las Vegas’ The Joint. Now that Santos’ Feb. 11 show, along with an additional MSG show Feb. 23, have both sold out, a third night at the famed arena has been announced for Feb. 24.
A fan-pre sale begins Thursday at 11 a.m. Any remaining tickets will go on sale to the public on Friday.
