New Venue In Old National
What’s old is new again for Live Nation, which is carving out a 500-capacity venue called Deluxe in the Old National Centre in Indianapolis.
Old National Centre, formerly the Murat Centre, already houses the 2,000-capacity Egyptian Room and 2,515-cap Murat Theatre but LN apparently saw an opportunity to use existing basement space for expansion.
“We were looking to make best use of what we had, which was some gorgeous rooms in the building,” Executive Director Terry Hennessey told the Indianapolis Business Journal.
Deluxe already has Margot & The Nuclear So And So’s on the books for a New Year’s Eve concert, but Hennessey added the venue may not have a grand opening until after the Super Bowl.
LN has tapped local promoters Slater Hogan and John Larner to book and manager the new rooms, the paper reported.
