City Winery Branches Out

Michael Dorf’s New York-based City Winery will open a Chicago branch this summer.

The venue will feature a winery and tasting room, restaurant, and a 300-capacity concert hall and private event space.

Construction at the new site, which plans to host more than 200 concerts per year, began Jan. 1.

Dorf, former owner of the Knitting Factory clubs in NYC and Los Angeles, opened the NYC Winery in 2008 as an alternative environment for music fans.
