Brownstein, the vocalist/guitarist for Wild Flag and the now-defunct Sleater-Kinney, and “Saturday Night Live” cast member Armisen are the co-creators, writers and stars of “Portlandia,” a television series set in Portland and inspired by the stereotype of Stumptown’s ultra hipster way of life and eccentric characters. The second season of “Portlandia” debuted Jan. 6 and runs through March 9.

Portlandia: The Tour features Brownstein and Armisen performing live music, presenting sneak-peek clips from season two and sharing personal anecdotes about the creation of the show.

The tour kicked off in late December in Portland. Previously announced upcoming gigs include Los Angeles at the EchoPlex Jan. 17; Chicago at The Hideout Jan. 18; Brookly, N.Y., at the Music Hall of Williamsburg Jan. 20; and New York City’s Bowery Ballroom Jan. 21.

The new dates begin Feb. 19 at Philadelphia’s Trocadero, followed by a Feb. 20 show in Boston at Berklee Performance Center. Additional stops are Washington, D.C., at the 9:30 Club Feb. 21; Durham, N.C., at Carolina Theatre Feb. 22; Atlanta’s Variety Playhouse Feb. 23; and Nashville at Marathon Music Works Feb. 24.
