Center Stage Files Chapter 11

Officials with Center Stage Alabama, the former Country Crossing entertainment complex in Cottonwood, Ala., filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection Jan. 9 to restructure $68 million in debt.

Resorts Development Group II, the corporation that runs the complex, reportedly list assets of $13.2 million.

But the filing doesn’t spell the end for the facility, as all venues at the complex remain open.

“Center Stage was conceived as a large-scale, country-music-themed entertainment venue and that’s what the board is committed to delivering to this region,” David Loughlin, consultant to Center State’s board, told the Dothan Eagle.

“Center Stage will emerge from this process in a much stronger position to complete every phase of the development as it was planned originally.”
