Diamond Head Drummer Francis Dies

Robbie Francis, best known as the drummer for British metal band Diamond Head, died of a ruptured aorta Jan. 14.

He was 53. Frances had already made a name for himself in Australia before joining Diamond Head in 1983, according to Noisecreep.

After Diamond Head split up in 1985, France went on to work with UFO, Alphaville, Wishbone Ash and Skunk Anansie, to name a few.

He was also a music teacher, author and producer for singer Keke and Spanish bands Second, Renochild and Blue Aliens.
