ODB’s FBI File Released

FBI documentation on the late Ol’ Dirty Bastard of Wu-Tang Clan alleging he and the group had ties to a variety of criminal activity has been made public through the Freedom Of Information Act.

The Daily Beast reported Jan. 13 that the heavily redacted, 94-page file on the Staten Island, N.Y., hip-hop group allegedly links it to various crimes including drug trafficking, gun running, money laundering through the group’s label and affiliations with the Bloods gang.

The file also claims WTC had a connection to the murder of Robert “Pooh” Johnson, an associate, in 1997. The gun used in Johnson’s murder was allegedly part of a multi-gun purchase made by the group in Ohio, the Beast said.

ODB, aka Russell Jones, died of a drug overdose in 2004 but Wu-Tang Clan continues, with plans to release its sixth album this year.

Original members include ODB, RZA, GZA, Method Man, Raekwon, Ghostface Killah, Inspectah Deck, U-God and Masta Killa.
