Japan Fests Shaping Up
This year’s Fuji Rock Festival, slated for the weekend of July 27-29 in its usual location at the Naeba ski resort in Niigata, Japan, is shaping up as Glastonbury East.

Radiohead frontman Thom Yorke has played Fuji before but not with his main gig, which has performed at Fuji’s rival, Summer Sonic, in the past.
Speaking of which, SS will take place in Tokyo and Osaka the weekend of Aug. 18-19, though no artists have been announced.
SS’s organizer Creativeman Productions will hold its annual twin one-day festivals, Springroove and Punkspring, on the weekend of March 31 at the Makuhari Messe Convention Center outside of Tokyo.
