BOCS Ticketing To Wind Up?

Perth, Australia’s BOCS Ticketing could be wound up this year.

The West Australian government has subsidised it to the tune of $350,000 annually for its operations through Perth Theatre Trust.

But Culture and Arts Minister John Day finds it hard to justify its expense. Set up 30 years ago, BOCS had six outlets at PPT venues and five booking agencies throughout the state.

It lost business to Ticketek and Ticketmaster. It received its biggest blow in 2008 when it lost the ticketing rights to Burswood and Regal theatres. Day said ticketing rights for Perth Theatre Trust venues would be put for tender in April, and BOC decommissioned if a bid was successful.
