Star Casino Sacks GM
Sydney’s Star Casino sacked general manager Sid Vaikunta, citing “behaviour in a work setting” in a statement from Echo Entertainment Group chief executive Larry Mullin.
Media reports claimed it referred to one or more incidents of sexual harassment.
The Sunday Telegraph reported that the Casino Liquor and Gaming Control Authority, which could strip the Star of its license, demanded a full report on the firing.
Mullin and Vaikunta worked together at the Borgata Casino in Atlantic City, and supervised Star’s $970 million upgrade.
He is replaced by Jupiters Casino managing director Frederic Luvisutto, who worked for 10 years in the United States.
Craig Peachey, GM of finance at Jupiters, will take on the managing director role while an international search begins for a replacement.
