NACPA Meeting @ Live!

The North American Concert Promoters held its annual meeting Feb. 1st at the J.W. Marriott Hotel prior to the Pollstar Live! opening.

William Morris Endeavor exec Marc Geiger spent an interesting hour with the promoters talking about changes in the business and what to expect as we move through the new year. NACPA also heard from representatives of MusiCares about that organization’s activities.

Dave Clark from Live Nation Detroit was elected the organization’s new president. Jodi Goodman from Live Nation San Francisco and reborn indie promoter Danny Zelisko from Phoenix were also added to the board.

AEG Rocky Mountain’s Brent Fedrizzi and AEG exec Larry Vallon also return for a second year on the board.

NACPA sponsored the convention keynote Feb. 2, “Moneyball: The Art of Winning an Unfair Game” with best-selling author Michael Lewis and Oakland A’s general manager Billy Beane.

The hotel ballroom was packed as moderator Bob Lefsetz helped the duo ponder the values of talent and how it is measured.
