Lady Gaga & Oprah Were Born This Way
Two of the world’s most powerful woman are joining forces at the end of this month when Oprah Winfrey helps Lady Gaga officially launch the singer’s Born This Way Foundation.
The big day is Feb. 29 at Harvard University’s Sanders Theatre in Cambridge, Mass., as part of the Harvard Graduate School of Education’s Askwith Forum.
In November Gaga announced that she was partnering with the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation, The California Endowment and the Berkman Center for Internet & Society at Harvard University to launch the foundation, which is being directed by the singer and her mother, Cynthia Germanotta.

The nonprofit aims to help youth with issues including self-confidence, well-being, anti-bulling, mentoring and career development. Gaga and her partners want to create a culture that celebrates kindness, bravery, acceptance and empowerment. In other words, a world where everyone can be the person they were born to be.
The BTWF launch will feature policy makers, non-profit organizations, foundation leaders, students and youth.
Along with Oprah, additional special guests include author and speaker Deepak Chopra, U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services, Kathleen Sebelius, and Charles Ogletree, Harvard Law School’s Jesse Climenko Professor of Law and Director of the Charles Hamilton Houston Institute for Race and Justice.

The event is being filmed for an upcoming episode of “Oprah’s Next Chapter” on OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network.
