Mohegan Sun Surge

Entertainment and retail revenue at Mohegan Sun casino in Uncasville, Conn., rose 23 percent in the fiscal first quarter ending Dec. 31.

Profits surged amid mild winter weather and a surge in business at Mohegan Sun Arena, according to the Norwich Bulletin.

The spike came even as ticket prices at the arena jumped 16 percent to $53.22.

Ticket sales rose 30 percent to $155 million from $119 million a year earlier, the paper noted.

“Things are showing no signs of slowing down at Mohegan Sun Arena,” Mohegan Tribal Gaming Authority CEO Mitchell Etess reportedly said during a conference call.
