Verizon Name Change

The Verizon Wireless Music Center near Birmingham, Ala., has been renamed Oak Mountain Amphitheatre after the end of a six-year sponsorship deal with the wireless business.

Officials with the Live Nation-owned, 10,289-capacity venue are looking for a new sponsor, according to the Birmingham Business Journal.

The shed was originally opened by the late Tony Ruffino’s New Era Productions, which ran the venue until it was sold to SFX in 2000.
