Last November guitarist/vocalist Dustin Kensrue posted a message on the band’s website saying Thrice would take a break from being a “full-time band” and that the next tour would be the group’s last “for the foreseeable future.”

Sure enough, today’s announcement from the Thrice camp states the upcoming road trip is the band’s “farewell spring tour” for Kensrue, Teppei Teranishi, and Breckenridge brothers Eddie and Riley.

Beginning at San Diego’s House Of Blues May 4, the tour takes Thrice across the continent and back with stops including Las Vegas at the Hard Rock Café On The Strip May 5; Dallas at The Door May 9; Atlanta at The Masquerade May 13; New York City at Best Buy Theater May 24; Boston’s Royale Nightclub May 26; Toronto at Phoenix Concert Theatre May 30 and Denver’s Summit Music Hall June 6.

Thrice concludes the tour with three dates in the band’s So. Calif. stomping grounds – Anaheim’s House Of Blues June 14-15 and Los Angeles at Club Nokia L.A. Live June 16.

Be sure to yell, clap and raise the roof when Thrice comes to your town. The band is recording audio on select stops for a proposed live album to be released in late 2012.

Animals As Leaders support on all dates.

This year’s OC Music Awards is shaping up to be a big night for Thrice with the band receiving noms for best album (Major/Minor) and best song (“Promises”) along with being honored with a lifetime achievement award. The 2012 OC Music Awards take place March 3 at the City National Grove of Anaheim.

A limited number of tickets will be made available via an exclusive Ducat King presale beginning Feb. 23 at high noon local time. General onsales begin March 1 at noon local time. Visit Thrice.net for more information.
