A whole lotta history comes with Winwood. As a teenager he fronted the Spencer Davis Group and sang on such hits as “Gimme Some Lovin’ and “I’m A Man.” Winwood eventually left SDG, forming Traffic in 1967 and joining Eric Clapton, Ginger Baker and Rich Grech for Blind Faith in 1969.

Winwood’s solo catalog is equally impressive, with hit albums such as 1980’s Arc Of A Diver, which featured the single “While You See A Chance.”

Winwood begins his spring journey in Milwaukee at Riverside Theatre May 11. Other stops include St. Louis at Peabody Opera House May 14; Chicago at the Chicago Theatre May 15; New York City’s Beacon Theatre May 23; Vienna, Va., at Filene Center at Wolf Trap May 29; Boston’s Bank Of America June 2 and the Mountain Jam Festival in Hunter, N.Y., June 3.
