Idina Menzel North American Tour
In addition to her Tony Award-winning role as Elphaba and her guest spot on “Glee” as Rachel’s biological mother, Menzel’s resume includes her Tony-nominated role as Maureen Johnson in the Broadway musical “Rent,” the film version of “Rent,” Kesa/The Wife/The Actress in the musical “See What I Wanna See,” an appearance on ABC’s “Private Practice,” and a spot in the Disney film “Enchanted.”
“I am so thrilled to be going back on tour this summer,” Menzel said. “I am eager to reconnect with my audience, perform my favorite songs and explore some exciting new material.”
The tour begins June 1 in Vancouver, British Columbia, at the Centre In Vancouver For Performing Arts.
The route includes stops in San Francisco (June 7); Las Vegas (June 10); Dallas (June 13); St. Louis (June 17); Milwaukee (June 20); Columbus, Ind. (June 23); Detroit (June 27) and Philadelphia (June 30).
The last show on Menzel’s schedule is Oct. 29 at New York City’s Carnegie Hall. More dates will be announced.
Menzel’s CD/DVD Idina Menzel Live: Barefoot At The Symphony is due out March 6, featuring classic pop and musical theater favorites as well as her own take on contemporary songs. Led by composer/conductor Marvin Hamlisch, the show was filmed at The Royal Conservatory’s Koerner Hall in Toronto.
Barefoot At The Symphony will air on PBS beginning March 3.
Tickets go on sale beginning this Saturday, March 3 at 10 a.m.
