Daughtry Casts A Wider ‘Spell’

Daughtry has added a second leg of dates to its schedule, extending the band’s spring tour through mid-June.

Fronted by season five “American Idol” finalist Chris Daughtry, the rockers are touring in support of Daughtry’s third studio album, Break The Spell. The album was certified gold within four weeks of its November release. Daughtry’s first two albums also did quite well on the charts – both peaked at No.1 and the band’s self-titled debut was the fastest selling rock debut in Soundscan history.

“Just a few more weeks in rehearsal and then we finally get to deliver Break The Spell live to our fans,” singer Chris Daughtry said.

The Break The Spell tour officially begins March 20 in Buffalo, N.Y., at Shea’s Performing Arts Center. The first set of dates is booked through a May 1 show with Lifehouse at New York City’s Hammerstein Ballroom.

The second leg begins May 10 in Indianapolis at the Egyptian Room. The new dates include stops in Minneapolis (May 13); Omaha, Neb. (May 15); St. Louis (May 16); Tulsa, Okla. (May 19); Phoenix (May 21); San Diego (May 22); Las Vegas (May 24); Los Angeles (May 30); San Francisco (May 31); Seattle (June 3) and Salt Lake City (June 5).

Last show on the route is June 13 in Austin, Texas, at the Bass Concert Hall.

Tickets for the second round of shows go on sale this Friday, March 2 at 10 a.m. Daughtry is donating $1 from every ticket sold to Malaria No More, a humanitarian organization fighting to end malaria deaths in Africa by 2015.
