Firesign Theatre’s Peter Bergman Dies
Peter Bergman, 72, co-founder of the Firesign Theatre comedy quartet, died of complications from leukemia March 9.
Bergman, who coined the term “Love-In,” helped build the group that began as a radio show at KPFK in the late ’60s. The performers went on to make two dozen comedy albums, with the skit “Nick Danger” its signature piece.

We are very sad to report that Peter Bergman, a founding member of the Firesign Theatre and the driving force behind Radio Free Oz in all its incarnations, passed away in the early morning hours of Friday, March 9, 2012 due to complications from leukemia.
