Hampton Ballroom Ownership Change

The facility that houses the long-active Hampton Beach Casino Ballroom is expected to change ownership.

Owner of half of the Hampton Beach Casino in New Hampshire are planning to sell their shares to Sal Lupoli, a businessman credited with helping revitalize businesses in Lawrence, Mass.

John Grandmaison said his family is selling its shares to the CEO of Lupoli Companies but did not reveal the price. The family bought the property in 1976 along with several others.

The ballroom opened in 1899 but has been a concert venue for decades. It also houses an arcade, restaurant and mall. Lupoli Companies is the parent company of Sal’s Pizza and other restaurants.

Recent shows at the 2,200-capacity ballroom include Pixies, Social Distortion and Bret Michaels. Shows on the books include Marilyn Manson, LeAnn Rimes and Dark Star Orchestra.
