George Michael Announces Rescheduled Dates

His European “Symphonica” tour sidelined by pneumonia late last year, George Michael now says he’s in good health and ready to resume his journey.

Late 2011 wasn’t a very good time for Michael’s fans when the star took sick. Michael’s illness resulted in several postponements of his tour featuring his hits accompanied by an orchestra.

Now the former Wham! singer will return to the road, beginning with a newly-added second show for Sept. 4 at the Stadthalle in Vienna, Austria, the same city where he was hospitalized last year. As a special “thank you” to the medical professionals who took care of him, he is donating 1,000 tickets to the caregivers.

“I would like to take this opportunity to say thank you first to the doctors and nurses who saved my life and took such great care of me and to all my fans, family and friends for their love and support,” Michael said. “I’m looking forward to seeing everyone.”

Along with Vienna, Amsterdam will also get a newly added show to the schedule – Sept. 14 at the Ziggo Dome.

The rest of the fall schedule consists of rescheduled dates, including a stop at Paris’ Palais Garnier Opera House Sept. 9 where Michael will become the first pop artist ever to perform a special gala charity concert at the venue.

Although Michael will play Austria, France and Netherlands, most of the rescheduled dates cover his 2012 fall/winter United Kingdom tour.

All original tickets will be accepted on the new dates. Refunds are available at points of purchase, but you need to request your money back by April 30. Visit GeorgeMichael.com for more information.
