Norah Jones Summer 2012 Dates

Norah Jones’ North American tour begins in June, a month after the release of her new album, “Little Broken Hearts.”

Produced and co-written by Danger Mouse, her fifth studio effort is due out May 1 on Blue Note Records. Jones has described the release as a concept album about a difficult breakup, according to the Associated Press. On Saturday Jones performed Little Broken Hearts in its entirety at La Zona Rosa in Austin, Texas, as part of SXSW.

The Associated Press wrote that the songs are “stylish yet deeply emotional,” adding that the album “is a departure for Jones and another step in her evolution away from the jazz of the Grammy-winning Come Away With Me.”

The North American tour kicks off June 20 in Indianapolis at the Murat Theatre. Additional U.S. and Canadian dates in June and July include Nashville (June 24); Vienna, Va. (June 27); Philadelphia (June 28); New York City (July 3); Toronto (July 6) and the Montreal Jazz Festival (July 7).

July 12-22 is devoted to European shows and festival appearances.

In August Jones returns to the states with an Aug. 7 gig in Santa Barbara, Calif., at the Santa Barbara Bowl. The route includes shows in Los Angeles (Aug. 10); Lake Tahoe, Nev. (Aug. 12); Bend, Ore. (Aug. 15) and Salt Lake City (Aug. 21). The last stop on the summer road trip is Aug. 23 in Morrison, Colo., at Red Rocks Amphitheatre.

Tickets for the North American dates go on sale the weekend of March 30.
