Gogol Bordello’s Global Plans For 2012

Your favorite Gypsy punk band has added new U.S. and Canadian gigs for its Radio Hutz summer tour.

As Gogol Bordello says in the tour announcement on its website, “it wouldn’t be summer without a crazy, trans-continental GB tour.”

Before Gogol Bordello brings the party to the states, the group has a South America tour to do March 24 through April 8 with shows in Costa Rica, Chile, Argentina and Brazil. The excursion also features a few performances in Mexico.

The Radio Hutz Tour begins with an appearance at Hangout Music Fest in Gulf Shores, Ala. The festival, which has not revealed its daily lineup, takes place May 18-20.

Frontman Eugene Hütz and the gang then head to Atlanta to take the stage at the Variety Playhouse May 20, followed by a May 21 gig in Charlotte, N.C., at the Fillmore Charlotte.

Gogol Bordello will team up with their 2010 tour mates Primus for two shows – May 22 at Pittsburgh’s Stage AE and May 23 in Columbus, Ohio, at Lifestyle Communities Pavilion.

Additional North American shows include Detroit (May 26); Toronto (May 27); Boston (June 1) and Montclair, N.J. (June 2). The band will also play Summer Camp Music Festival, which is set for May 25-27 in Chillicothe, Ill., at Three Sisters Park.

A Europe tour is booked June 28 through July 28.

Gogol Bordello’s most recent release is 2010’s Trans-Continental Hustle. The band will hit the studio this fall to work on their sixth studio album.

A limited number of pre-sale tickets are on sale now to the official Gogol Bordello fan community. Additional pre-sales are scheduled throughout the week.
