There’s no denying One Direction’s popularity on this side of the Pond. With screaming teens greeting the boys during the group’s “Today” appearance two weeks ago followed by a chart-topping debut album – Up All Night – the lads sure look as if they will be the ones to enter the lofty tween stratosphere once occupied by *NSYNC, Backstreet Boys and New Kids On The Block.

Further proof of One Direction’s newly found success is the group’s U.K. itinerary consisting of sold-out arena dates clear through next year.

Playing indoors and outdoors the One Direction U.S. headlining adventure begins in Fairfax, Va., at the Patriot Center May 24. Stops include E. Rutherford, N.J., at the Izod Center May 25; Detroit’s Fox Theatre June 1; Las Vegas at Planet Hollywood June 9; San Jose at the Events Center June 13; Oakland’s Paramount Theatre June 14; Los Angeles at the Gibson Amphitheatre @ Univ. CityWalk June 16; Atlanta at the Arena at Gwinnett Center June 26 and Tampa at the 1-800-Ask-Gary Amphitheatre June 29. Last destination listed on the new schedule is Fort Lauderdale, Fla., at the Bank Atlantic Center July 1.

There are also a couple of TV appearances in the plan with the group appearing on the Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards March 31 to perform their hit “What Makes You Beautiful.” One Direction will also appear on an episode of iCarly “iGo One Direction” set to air April 7 on Nickelodeon.
