What can Mellencamp’s Canadian fans look forward to? The Indiana rocker is expected to play songs from throughout his career as well as material from his critically acclaimed No Better Than This album. Produced by T Bone Burnett, and relying on a 55-year-old mono tape recorder utilizing a single microphone, No Better Than This portrayed Mellencamp in retro mode with recording sessions in places such as Memphis’ famed Sun Studio as well as Room 414 of San Antonio’s Gunter Hotel where blues pioneer Robert Johnson recorded in 1936.

Mellencamp launches his latest Canadian trek in Penticton, British Columbia, at the South Okanagan Event Centre June 14. Heading eastward, the tour stops in Dawson Creek, British Columbia, at the EnCana Events Centre June 16; Calgary, Alberta, at Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium June 21-22; Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, at Mosaic Place June 24; Thunder Bay, Ontario, at Fort William Gardens June 26; Moncton, New Brunswick, at the Moncton Coliseum July 3; and Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, at the Dartmouth Sportsplex July 9.

Mellencamp then reverses course and returns to Ontario to play the Sarnia Bayfest July 13 and the General Motors Centre in Oshawa July 15.
