Comedian David Brenner used to talk about his early standup days when he opened for rock bands, saying audience members who had timed their drug consumption for the music would look upon him with stoned stupefaction when he walked out on stage.

These days comedy represents a popular festival feature. After all, who couldn’t use a good laugh after days of camping out and lining up for concessions, community toilets and showers?

Presenting comedy since 2004, Bonnaroo has become a must-play for many comedians, especially those who don’t work the clubs or do extensive touring, often resulting in one-of-a-kind performances.

Working with Comedy Central, Bonnaroo’s 2012 comedy lineup features Wright, Ansari and Maron as well as Brian Posehn, Judah Friedlander, Reggie Watts, Rhys Darby, former Men At Work frontman Colin Hay, Garfunkle And Oats, Amy Schumer, Pete Holmes, Rory Scovel, Mike O’Connell, Ali Wong and Kyle Kinane.
